COLT NEW SERVICE DA MODEL 1917 |
The Colt New Service Double Action Revolver-Model 1917 was manufactured from about 1898 through about 1944, this particular revolver was manufactured in 1920, with the total production being about 356,000, including most of the variations. This was Colt's largest framed swing-out cylinder double action and had one of the longest production runs of any of their double actions. Of the Model 1917 there were about 154,000 produced. This pistol was chambered for the .45 ACP and used "half-moon" clips to facilitate loading that particular cartridge. The grips on this one are not origonal but all of the military markings are present and it is in pretty fair shape, as the military has a way of using up its firearms. |
